This week’s tutorial tutor and I had a long discussion about how to ask new questions.
I had always had a somewhat unconfident attitude toward my projects before. One question I have always had was answered today and has changed my attitude toward my project. Because during my previous research, I didn’t think I could tackle procrastination at its source, and I knew in my heart that the problems would always be there. But today, Tutor told me that the use of research is not to solve problems but to understand them. My tutor made an analogy of how to cook a meal. For example, if I want to make a pot of beef soup, I need to go to the supermarket and buy meat. But sometimes I don’t have the necessary ingredients, so I use other ingredients instead, which is like improving my problem. When I cook these ingredients, it’s like doing an INTERVENTION to TEST my dish. I asked my Tutor if it is considered a delay for international students to miss the beginning of a question due to organising their language etc., when answering it. He told me, for this question, the overseas student was a filter to help me narrow down the user profile.
My task this week is to use the filter to determine my user profile.
From my observations, many content creators in this industry are procrastinators. So I did interviews with some content creators and adjusted my title.
